MOCK TRIALS
A mock trial is an ideal way to illustrate either criminal or civil court procedure. It could be a full-scale trial or just a portion of a trial (choosing a jury or a bail hearing). Mock trials teach courtroom procedure, illustrate the functions of various participants in the legal system and analyze the effectiveness of the adversarial nature of the justice system. Students can explore an area of the law in depth while developing research, organizational and critical thinking skills.
Introductory Mock Trials
A number of introductory mock trials are available on a two-week loan period. Suitable grade levels for introductory mock trials range from Grades 5-12. From teaching students the roles of courtroom personnel, to helping you develop your own mock trials, these are valuable learning resources.
Advanced Mock Trials
The advanced mock trials are available on a two-week loan period. These mock trials are produced for senior students who have some mock trial experience and who are ready for a new challenge.
