Accessing Health Care

In Saskatchewan, most health care services are provided by or through the Saskatchewan Health Authority or the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. A complete listing of these services, detailed information about their programs, and contact information can be found here.

Health care treatment includes any services provided by a health care professional. It includes things like seeing a doctor, having surgery or dental treatment, undergoing testing to diagnose an illness, and disease prevention.

Patients' Rights & Responsibilities

People have certain rights and responsibilities when they are accessing health care.

Health Care Complaints

Sometimes issues can arise between doctors or health care professionals and the people they treat. You may think your doctor did not listen to your concerns or that your physical therapist injured you while treating you. Depending on the type of health care professional who provided the treatment, where the treatment was provided, and the type of complaint you have there are a number of options.

FAQs

People seeking medical treatment can have questions about a number of things including the choices they have in deciding on who will treat them and where they will receive treatment.
