Create an account or log in to save your progress and recieve a certificate of completion.

GOALS

After this module you will understand:

  • How to create a Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy and what must be included in one.
  • How to implement a Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy.
  • The workplace training that must be provided about harassment and violence.

Workplace Assessment

In every federally regulated workplace the employer and their partner must assess their workplace regarding harassment and violence. This is the first step in creating the workplace’s Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy.

Elements of a Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy

There are certain elements that must be included in a Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy as well as some that, although they are not required, are recommended.

Implementing a Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy

Employers need to take steps to implement their Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy so it is an effective tool in preventing and dealing with workplace harassment and violence.

Training

The employer, employees and any person the employer designates to receive complaints about workplace violence or harassment must take training about harassment and violence in the workplace.

PLEA offers free online training on preventing and addressing workplace harassment.
